The Mentrau Iaith are one voice in their condemnation of the war currently taking place in Ukraine.

Iwan Hywel of Mentrau Iaith Cymru says: “It is normal, everyday, innocent people whom are always worst affected in war, not those who cause suffering and misery. It’s a heart breaking situation.”

It is clear that there is a desire from people in Wales to help, with many asking how to do so effectively. This is true of the Mentrau Iaith which are directing people to charities such as the Red Cross in order to contribute money that can help the people in Ukraine today.

Menter Dinefwr has established a collection point for goods and donations to the people of Ukraine in Hengwrt, Carmarthen Street, Llandeilo, SA19 6AE. The public can drop donations to the cause between 9.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Saturday.

“The situation for the people of Ukraine and the refugees in the neighbouring countries is terrible and we are pleased to be able to offer any possible support by working with local volunteers,” said Owain Gruffydd, Chief Executive of Menter Dinefwr. “The current situation is a huge humanitarian crisis and all items and donations will be passed on to those in need.”
