Menter Iaith Abertwe is very excited to announce a new Welsh language festival for Swansea! The Gŵyl Tawe [Festival] takes place outside the Railway Inn in Killay on Saturday, September 4th.

There will be live music from Papur Wal, Mari Mathias, and Bwca, and also DJs from Menter Abertawe will be playing Welsh music from 3pm onwards! There will be food stalls and a wide selection of drinks from the pub. Admission is FREE and all are welcome.

The festival is taking place with support from Dysgu Cymraeg Ardal Bae Abertawe, (Learn Welsh Swansea Bay) and there will be a stand advertising the courses starting in September and an opportunity to chat with staff about the opportunities to learn Welsh through the university.

The musical line up is also organized in conjunction with Swansea Music Hub. The Hub is responsible for supporting and promoting the music scene in Swansea, and for organizing Swansea Fringe Festival every October. An exciting announcement about this year’s Fringe Festival will follow this event on Sunday 5th September!
