Calling Wales’ young stars! Clwb Theatr Cymru is back this Christmas with sacksful of fun and laughter.

Over this year’s summer holidays, 118 children from across Wales got together on Zoom to perform, dance and enjoy themselves. Now, we’re busy planning new Christmas workshops to bring some festive fun to young performers up and down the country.

Here are some of the highlights from Clwb Theatr Cymru’s summer session:

Every Wednesday during the Christmas holidays, experts from the arts – Richard Elis and Jalisa Andrews – will lead lively, creative sessions. Sian Elin (Theatr Genedlaethol’s Participation Co-ordinator) will also be there at both sessions to welcome you all.

  • 23 December 2020: Create Characters with Richard Elis
  • 30 December 2020: Dance with Jalisa Andrews

Clwb Theatr Cymru Nadolig is free to attend and all workshops will be held through the medium of Welsh. The sessions are tailored to primary school children in years 2 to 6 – and it will all take place over Zoom.

We want to make our sessions accessible to all and this means different things for different people. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Please get in touch with your local Menter Iaith to keep your place by 14 December 2020.

Clwb Theatr Cymru is a joint project from Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and Mentrau Iaith Cymru. For many years, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru has worked closely with Mentrau Iaith in west Wales to provide weekly Drama Clubs. This summer’s Clwb Theatr Cymru was the first time the company worked in partnership with Mentrau Iaith Cymru to bring together every language initiative throughout Wales, and provide participation work on this scale. We’re thrilled to be working together once again this Christmas
