50 years ago the Cwm-Rhyd-y-Rhosyn records were released, which have created childhood memories of generations of children in Wales. To celebrate this the Mentrau Iaith (Welsh Language initiatives) have created a multisensory path through Cwm-Rhyd-y-Rhosyn on their stall in Eisteddfod yr Urdd. The Grand Opening with Dafydd Iwan and Edward Morus Jones will be on Monday, 27 May at 11am on the stall of Mudiad Meithrin, which will provide the space for the event and be right next door to the Mentrau Iaith stall. There will be a warm welcome to everyone to join the event and to explore the path through the Cwm.
The path through the Cwm will be for the whole family and a multi-sensory experience to revive the childhood of generations of children in Wales and introduce the Cwm to a new generation. The visitors will be guided through different areas of the Cwm to the sound of the evergreen songs and stories by Dafydd Iwan and Edward Morus Jones.
The project is being funded by the Creu Bach grant of the Arts Council of Wales, Gwendoline and Margaret Davies Charity, Parents for Welsh Education, Menter Iaith Maldwyn and Mentrau Iaith Cymru.

It will be fantastic to be able to celebrate this special contribution by introducing a new generation to the songs and stories. This is such an original, creative and relevant work by the Mentrau Iaith and it’s a pleasure for the Arts Council to support the work.”
