The Mentrau Iaith have launched a new channel on AM that includes tens Welsh activities to join in at home. The channel includes activities for families, children, young people, communities and more to encourage individuals of all ages to enjoy using Welsh while staying safe in our homes during lockdown.

“It’s been a year of change and adapting for everyone this year, including the Mentrau Iaith. Throughout the year we’ve created several video activities, from flower arranging to computer gaming and everything inbetween, all in Welsh. It’s a pleasure to see all these activities available in one place for people of all ages to flick home and enjoy at home.”

AM is Wales’ first digital multimedia platform. It’s home to over 220 creative channels that reflects the variety in Welsh culture. Funded by the Welsh Government, over 70,000 have now used the AM platform with over 11,000 downloading the app.

The Mentrau Iaith AM channel is launched as part of the website and ap’s updated version. As part of the update, a categories function is now available for channels to reflect the range of resources available. Alun Llwyd, Pyst Chief Executive, responsible for the platform, explains;

“It’s great to be able to showcase some of the fantastic range of work done my the Mentrau Iaith on AM and offer a digital platform to reach a new audience. We’re thankful to the Mentrau Iaith’s continued support and we lookforward to working closer in the future.”
