There’s no I in team and it’s always best to collaborate, and that is what every Menter Iaith does with a number of different partners – from organisations to businesses, councils and communities – to promote the use of Welsh in communities across Wales. Gŵyl Canol Dre – Menter Gorllewin Sir Gâr
Gŵyl Canol Dre presents Welsh arts and culture to the whole community, of all ages in Carmarthen, thanks to effective collaboration. With Welsh language organisations, Carmarthen town primary schools and others involved over the course of a year, each partner has a specific role in ensuring the success of the festival which attracts thousands to enjoy the Welsh language.
County Language Forum – Menter Iaith Môn
Since 2016 a forum of partners on the island have been meeting monthly to collaborate at a strategic level – identifying gaps, identifying needs and to avoid duplicating work. Working together aims to ensure an increase in the number of those learning and using Welsh on Anglesey.
Collaborating with Pyst – Menter Iaith Rhondda Cynon Taf
Pyst run a label and distribution service and co-ordinate events with a particular focus on music from Wales. Working with this expertise has enabled Menter Iaith Rhondda Cynon Taf to organise and promote more Welsh language musical activities in the county. The combination of the Menter’s knowledge of local promotion as well as Pyst’s specialist knowledge of the Welsh music industry has been of great benefit in attracting a new audience to Welsh music.
