Successful Conference in Llandrindod

 

The Metrepole Hotel, Llandrindod hosted this years Main Officers and Chairmen’s conference. The Conference took place over the 11th and 12th of November and was a great success. The Conference included several sessions, group tasks, presentations and intense group debates. This year’s conference was opened by Welsh Prime Minister Carwyn Jones. He paid tribute to the hard work of the Mentrau describing it as “essential and vital” in assisting the Welsh Government strenghthen and increase the use of the Welsh language locally.

 

The Conference’s Objective

The main objective of this year’s conference was to share information, experiences and specialities in the language planning field and to promote strategic co-operation in an attempt to promote the use of the Welsh language. This year’s programme included a wide array of sessions with a mixture of information sharing sessions and discussions aimed to help individuals reach their targets.

The feedback received was extremely positive with the vast majority of this years participants describing this year’s conference as interesting and that the content was relevant. 92% of the participants revealed they had received new information and 84% revealed that the Conference was likely to have a positive impact on their work in the near future.
