New Quiz aims to bring primary schools in the Aman and Tywi Valleys together.

‘Dim Clem’ Welsh for ‘No idea’ is a new project developed by Menter Bro Dinefwr that aims to bring years six pupils from local primary schools in the Aman and Tywi Valley together in a spectacular head to head between the finalists that will be held in March.

18 primary schools are competing in the quiz – with 8 fixtures in the first round that will be held before Christmas. The quarter finals and semifinals will be held during January and February.

The first quiz was held at Ysgol Gynradd Cwrt Henri, on Tuesday the 23rd of November, in a round which saw Ysgol Gynradd Cwrt Henri and Ysgol Gynradd Talyllychau battle it out, answering questions ranging from Sport, Geography and general knowledge.

In a closely fought round Ysgol Gynradd Cwrt Henri were crowned the champions and will now compete in the quarter finals and we wish Ysgol Gynradd Talyllychau all the best and thank them for taking part.

Glyn Jones, Development Officer, Menter Bro Dinefwr said:

“We are thrilled that so many schools have agreed to take part in the quizzes. The quizzes create opportunities for primary schools throughout the area to strengthen local connections and enhance the use of the Welsh language amongst their pupils.

By creating quizzes for pupils in year 6 we hope that this project will help them form friendships with individuals from other primary schools before going to their prospective Secondary School next year.

Pob lwc to everyone who will be taking part and we very much look forward to meeting you.”
